ERA 488 first outdoor show

ERA 488 arrived at my door twelve months ago to the day. May 27th marks its first adventure to an outdoor show since. It has been a long year sorting this car out and getting it to the point where it is now. I LOVE THIS CAR!

Beautiful!!

Troy - looks spectacular. Those FIA wheels look great. Is this one a keeper?

Well done Sir, your car is stunning.

66gtk 05-27-2017 04:49 PM

Thanks guys. Dan, I hope so! Gotta sell the Shelby GTH to make that happen. It's for sale but tough market for late model Shelby Mustangs. I'm pretty sure it would be tough to replace this ERA. It's everything I want in a Cobra and I improved it for me and my tastes/criteria as a keeper.

Awesome ERA!!!

Troy,

Outstanding! The colors are so correct as is the exhaust. Very nice wheels.

Enjoy your beautiful ERA.

Troy,
I suspected you might have landed a "keeper".:D She is definitely a beauty. As for the 12 months, that's less time than you'd wait for a new one, not to mention half the cost (ask me how I know!) As far as the mustang--maybe a bigger garage is in order? (or a lottery ticket?) ;)

Congrats! How 'bout a pic of the revised engine?

Evan

Looks great Troy! You will never find another one like it, keep it and enjoy.

Sweet ERA, one of the best examples.

Troy, did this car come from a Connecticut owner originally? One just like this minus the intake was built by a guy somewhat local to me in Conn. about ~5 years ago.

Originally it went out to California. After that, I lost track. The stack system was added afterward, I think.

This is correct. I purchased it from the original owner. The entire engine and induction has been replaced since it left ERA.

The shine is incredible. What do you use?

Maricopa 05-29-2017 05:24 PM

Perfection.....what my car would have been if I didn't put my kids through college instead. :)

Evan,
I had considered swapping out the EFI, but decided to keep it.

Paint is shiny, but it's 20+ years old and is starting to show some of it's age here and there which is fine with me. The phone takes nice photos, and the conditions were perfect since it's overcast - shows off the color and gloss well.

Dimis 05-30-2017 03:50 AM

Yep! She's a keeper.

Love the intake, and more so, I enjoy hearing your excitement when reading your posts about this car.

I hope she serves you well!
Congrats.

Ps. I can't imagine this will be her last outdoor show either.
