20 years
20 years ago June 28, 2000 my ERA kit (#574) was delivered. It took three years to finish it. I still love the car and have had zero ERA issues in the 17 years the car has been on the road. I cannot quite say the same for my engine work. One of my favorite times was a track day in Sebring, when the ERA ran great. Not the same for other kits including my pit mate who had a boiling clutch fluid.
I am glad to see, but not surprised, that ERA is still doing well and I am still happy with my build. My wife and I took a nice ride today to celebrate. Wow time flies.

Outstanding! ERA is among the best built of all Cobras as well as being there after the sale. Also they are great people to deal with!

Fun thread. About ten years ago I migrated away from trying to make the car faster and just concentrated on making her better, more reliable, and tuned so that it was pleasant to drive slowly while on the street in traffic/brutally hot days/etc. Either the car has gotten faster by itself, or my perception of speed has gotten skewed. Either that or the tires are past needing to be replaced as just last weekend she was breaking her rear loose with barely an inch and a half of throttle coming off the line. But, I haven't had a break down <knock on wood> in maybe a dozen years and, even with 475 true and honest horsepower, she handles the heat and in-town traffic as well as one of my daily drivers. But it did take a while to learn all the nuances of getting her there. And even after 15 years with her I'm still learning.

R&B back,
Congratulations on 20 years with your ERA427. I have always been an ERA fan, and did actually have a deposit down with Peter 'some years ago' on an ERA FIA.
As Dan said, please post pictures of your car. We can help if you can't post them!
Here's "cheers" to 20 more years!
Glen
hauss - it's not all about you, "just sayin' "

Congrats on enjoying your cobra for so long. They should be driven and enjoyed. Here's to another 20 years.

ERA Cobras still leave me speechless. They captured the body better than any other manufacturer. You're a lucky man to have built and enjoyed that car for so many years.

Thanks guys.
I did try to post photos, but with no luck. Does anyone know if there really is a newbie wait time? The posts are small <39kb jpg. Not sure what else it could be. They go to moderator approval and never come back.

There is. It used to be seven years, but I think Jamo shortened it to five.

I guess I missed my ERA's 25th back in April, but I've also only had it for the past two and a half years.

A bit of a hard marker Pat.

Yes, this would be correct, and just part of the process to allow the honest people in. Keep posting to conversations, and grow with us all.

I've found that the pics need to be more than 100kb. If smaller than that, they won't attach to the post
Cheers,
Glen

Make the files bigger? but....... never mind. I will try it. They downloaded! Thanks for the tip. Now you have to look at my photos.
- First drive after body work and mechanical work.
- In the paint booth, i.e. our garage. It took three days to paint it and two weeks of post sanding, buffing and polishing.
- A few weeks ago. If I had to do over again, there is not much I would change.
