Connecticut Custom recently painted my car (ERA2158), they had it about 6 months. Its black and they spent a lot of time to make sure everything was perfect before the paint went on. It came out AMAZING, looks like the paint was poured on the car.

Amazing looking cars

I have # 834, hopefully will get it soon, ordered 1/19, powder coated 10/19, still waiting.

I just picked up #833 last Saturday (unpainted) ordered it Oct of 2018. It was 798 days from deposit to delivery so at that rate you should be good to go around Feb/March, if you are not having them paint it there that is. I had bought #460 back in the mid 90's and had them paint it, dont remember how long it took to get that time tho

What did you have them do on the car for you?

DanEC 12-22-2020 04:35 AM

Wow, that’s a lot of time for a non-roller. I ordered 782 in May and received it as an unpainted semi-roller (included rear suspension) the following Feb. They must be busy or down on shop help. I did do the bonding and riveting myself which probably cut a week or two off shop time. The

Unfortunately, because of the pandemic, Connecticut Custom's workflow has been severely restricted. They have a bunch of our kits awaiting preparation and paint.

I am looking forward to the next call from Peter about the body being built. I know that is still probably 6 months out though. I have been meaning to call and ask a couple questions in regard to the body. Since I am technically getting a slabside, can I get the oil cooler scoop and the FIA style fuel filler?

I found that, so long as I could sign my name, I could get pretty much anything my little heart desired.

The oil cooler scoop shouldn't be a problem since the front body is the same as the FIA.
The central fuel filler is more work because the tanks are different. The modifications must be made to the Slabside tank top panel before the tank parts are welded. We'll need plenty of warning since typically we assemble/weld batches of 6 tanks at a time.

That is a great look especially with the street trim!
Knockoffs look a little scary though, looks like they are only on a couple of threads1

Just got off the phone with Peter....lol. Another awesome conversation, I think I almost killed him with my "options" request.
Me: I would like an oil cooler scoop on my slabside
Peter: WHOA...
Me: Also would like the lemans/FIA fuel filler
Peter: WWWHHOOAAAA, gonna kill me before Christmas..lol

So far this has been an awesome experience, he said they will do what it takes to get the car to look exactly how I imagine. I think the build process is going to be just as fun as actually driving it.

I had them bond the body and floors, install the heater and defroster and they built up a complete rear for me. They also did what was needed to be able to use the street gas cap. As per usual everything done was top quality work!

#829 is just south of you in Coopersburg. Put a deposit on mine in Feb 2018 and picked up my unpainted roller in Sept 2019.

Well that is lovely. A Jag rear is never prettier than when it's sitting on a creeper out of the car.

Wow cool. Private message me if you want to talk about the cars sometime. I actually help out with the Lehigh Valley region of SAAC, the meetings are at my house, well they were til this damn virus came around.

Nice work! Who is Brandon and where is he located?
Thanks

speedricko79 12-26-2020 07:55 AM

Rear looks good man

SAcobra427 12-26-2020 03:41 PM

Yes they really do a nice job there, all the safety wire is even perfectly done. My only problem is that it is a 3.54, due to a miscommunication with Peter, I actually wanted a 3.07 ratio so now I am going to have to break it down to replace the 3.54's
