Speed Bleeders

Guys I am going to be changing the brake fluid out in 634. It has Sierra fronts and the Jag inboards. Does anyone happen to know what speed bleeders I need to order! There is a ton of them to choose from. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.

Motive Power Bleeder. The adapter is something you'll need to research based on ERA's master cylinder.

I 2nd the Motive bleeder. If you have Girling reservoirs power bleeder won’t work. Cans can’t handle being pressurized. Even just a pound or two and they blow up.

Go to post 30 in this old thread of mine. I believe the 3/8-24 are correct for the rear girdling. I have no idea for the Sierras.

I have a Contemporary with the Girling calipers. I used this kit:

According to this page the speed bleeders for GMC Sierra front calipers are M10-1.5 X 33mm:

No, the "Sierras" are really big front brakes that were made by the Sierra company. I have them on my car but I still bleed the brakes the same way I have for 50 years. It is not the GMC Sierra.

Dayamn. And Ford U.K. made a Sierra. Details matter. E.R.A., of course, uses GM calipers - but apparently not the ones from pickup trucks?

I can't find any listings for Sierra, other than brake pads. Are they no longer in business?

They are no longer in business. I think they started out as JFZ, which got eaten up by Sierra, which then went out of business. But, the Wilwood Rebuild Kit #130-2655 fits them, just in case anybody cares.

As far as the speed bleeders are concerned, I guess the OP will have to pull the bleeders, measure the thread size and pitch and go from there.

I'm going to just shoot from the hip and bet that the speed bleeders that fit the Wilwood #120-11136 also fit the Sierras.

I do not have Girling cans. So the pressure should not be an issue. Maybe Peter P. can get me the thread size. Btw is thread size all I need? Does the length matter much?

Well you know you use a 1/4" bleeder wrench on them, so I don't see how it could be anything other than the SB1428. Here's a pic and chart of all your choices: Speed Bleeder Main Page

Yes, it's not unusual for calipers to have the bleeder hole drilled larger and tapped accordingly for a larger bleeder screw. Part of the re-build process, where the original screw is seized in and likley broken off. This is what I've got with my GM calipers. One bleed screw is larger than the other one.
