Default Insurance Nightmares

Boy,
I'm having a difficult time with the insurance.
This is turning out to be the largest challenge so far.

May have to consider a civic

Todd ~ what kind of problems are you having?? I just signed up the SPF with Condon & Skelly. Checked all of them out and went with them mainly because of their rates. I do have some restrictions although not as many as the others. There are many companies out there.......they just happened to work best for my situation.

What Rain??? Its looks to be a perfect day in cobraville. Eric, 10 bucks is the going rate to have your picture taken with my car. Check or money order will do fine. Its really a great deal since I also throw in a FOCS hat too. And from the looks of it you really should keep something on your head....those rays can be very damaging to the skin

Brian

p.s. whats up with your car????

Talking SCOF vs FOCS!!!

Brian,...lol

10 bucks? you owe me. I normally get 100.00 to provide a "blessing" in the cockpit of a Cobra, although, most people don't like to pay for it...

You right about the sun. Im not surprised your feet are so small since they are in the shade all day....

Your engine looked sweet on the Dyno. Eric was getting ready to drop that bad boy into the SPF in question. "I think ur gunna like it!"

My car is due in end of May. Hey, don't go hanging out at Dynamic!!! I didn't do anything to YOUR car....really

Eric

Barlow Insurance has been insuring Cobras, kit cars, street rods, muscle cars, antiques and
other special-interest motorcars since 1971; according to Jonathan Barlow, the premiums
are very reasonable, due to the "hobby" type use of these vehicles. There is one hitch: Barlow
writes insurance only for California residents. You can contact Jonathan in Corona, California,
toll-free at 800-558-7772, or fax him at 909-279-8502.

Prices below are for Canadian Insurance companies, but the concept of using a broker and shopping around, hold true no matter where you live.
The Co-Operators - typical rate $650/year
Dominion of Canada - typical rate $140/month, $35/month in winter for fire and theft only
Halifax Insurance - $2,700/year
Wawanesa - $400+ for a six month policy
I am covered by State Farm with a $1000 deductable and a 38K value for I think $370.00 per year and no rider or limitations. My Cobra is registered as a 66 Cobra with the DOT. So far so good hopefully, I won't have to go and hunt down another company. I have all my insurance with State Farm Tulsa, Oklahoma

I just sent out for a '64 title from Titles Unlimited. It should be here within the week. I called heacock about insurance and he said he really doesn't like to insure big block cars. For the small block, about $500 (maybe less) a year with a 3500 mile limit.

Ended up with insurance through Ralley.
They are at $900+ for 1 year and a 3K mile limit @ $60K value.
I did get an application from Condon & Skelly for $700+
for $75k value with 2.5k mile limit.

For what it's worth, I use Grundy (FL registration) and my first year premium was over $800, but it dropped to $435 the second year. I didn't question it, but assume they reckon if I managed to get through the first year without bending the car, I was less of a risk.
