Default Upper radiator hose replacement

I built ERA 469 about 5 years ago, and used the recommended Gates 20552 hose, which was readily available at the time. Now, it is not listed anywhere that I can find, and there is no service replacement listed. Is there a replacement, or is this a part number that was originally designed for an OEM application that I can look up? Any recent builders out there find a replacement?
Thanks.

The latest hose replacement is Gates 20819. That's what happens when you've been building essentially the same car for over 20 years. The replacement parts that were once easy to get have been phased out...

But not us.

I just bought a 20819 to replace an existing 20552 which is starting to crack. The new hose is quite a bit wider and the end that connects to the radiator isn't long enough to clear the support bars. Is there a better part to use these days?

Edit: Actually it fits just fine if you bend it around the corner with the spring inside to keep it from collapsing. Hopefully being up against the frame is okay and doesn't rub too much due to vibrations.

I just changed mine last night. The replacement for Gates hoses did not work so I pulled the two short hoses and went to the auto parts store and matched them to two different hoses and then cut the pieces to fit for my FE. My old hoses were actually weeping through. I will start up tonight and make sure I have no leaks.

Is this a typo on car number or year built. My car is 698 built in 2004?

Radiator hoses: Spefications and interchanges

It takes a different hose depending on whether or not you have the rigid connecting pipe.

You might want to opt for siicone equivalent sizes rather than rubber, higher heat tolerance and far more durable.

Default Silicone hose replacement

I recently replaced all my hoses with silicone hoses from HPS. The quality of the hoses are great and come in a few colors, if your interested.
