Manifolds for a 289
Bob,
I came up to visit your facility in mid Oct. I am the fella with the red catamaran. I am still trying to do my homework on buying a kit. I was wondering if any manifolds fit the FIA? Being in the muffler business for 30 years I am not a fan of headers. I see some pics with manifolds, and I am wondering what other applications they might fit. Also Sanderson headers in South San Francisco build header manifolds. Do you have any experience with something like that? I have fit them on small block chevy's, and they fit well, breath well, and are quiet. Also I am looking for a builder to provide, or duplicate the 289k hi-po motor with all the proper markings, and hardware for the period. |
So you prefer a cast iron manifold to a tube header?

Unfortunately, the headers take a path that no production car uses. Sanderson might be able to make a custom set, but nothing off-the-shelf will fit.
