Coolant Overflow Tank?
Bob, I need a 1 qt catch can to meet the tech requirements at the various track events I plan to attend. Is there an ERA preferred tank? Simple overflow or recirculating? Where should it be mounted?
I will be using the recommended FE surge tank on my 390FE.

Sammy:
A quick solution is to take an empty one quart plastic oil bottle, spray paint it black and tie wrap it to the front X member. Drop the overflow tube in and you're good to go.

PS: The alternative, $ way to go is to have something fabricated or search the various race (Pegasus Racing www.pegasusautoracing.com might be a place to start) car folks for a tank. |

One Step Up
One step up from that are the $14 catch cans at Summit. You can mount them as per Jim's post above and they have a petcock to drain the overflow.

Catch Can
Summit haas some neat aluminum cans that can be mounted on the fan housing. The only trick is to mount it so that the drain cock is easily "reachable".

Ok, I see several ways to skin this cat  ack fia, good looking solution .. I don't mind spending $50. Patrickt .. cheap but still looks nice enough.
Jim, ... are you gonna put an old plastic oil can in your GT40?  Hey, I know .. it comes off after track day ..

Actually, I have the oil bottle catch can" in my FIA. It is under the front cross member, so it can't be seen unless you really go searching for it.
As for the GT, Teddy up at the ERA R&D shop is making up some of his special high $ "catch cans" that hang on the rear subframe body support tubes, where they are out for everyone to see.

Nice one, Chuck! I see Summit has a Mr. Gasket plastic tank about that size also. But I just ordered the $13.95 unit above in patrickt's post. Will get through Run N Gun with that one ok. If I get the car built in time .. that's a whole 'nother thread
