Screw upgrade
As we all know ERA is well known for the closest to original as there is in the fiberglass world. Thats why most of us bought these cars.
In my search and research I found that most of the original cars all used sloted screws. The only place they did not was with the trim ring for the shifter that I can find.
Although I'm not 100% done yet with my build I have replaced all the phillips head screws on my car with stainelss, slotted, pan, sheet metal screws.
This includes all the screws in the engine bay, fresh air vent (external and internal), dash board, nudge bar, vents, etc.
It's been some work but it's a neat upgrade that most will not have. I also replaced the harness straps with metal straps as original.
If you have a nudge bar on the front, the original screws were hex heads as well.
I spoke to Doug about this and he told me they went with the phillips screws for safety reasons (i.e., them not scratching the paint on the cars).
Just passing on this info in case so of you guys are bored and need to tinker with your car.
