Right now the Slabside is in limbo, waiting for the primary pipes to get back from coating and the rear suspension to be finished. Everything should start visually progressing again in a day or two.

Rod:
As for ERAGT2077, I actually gave Peter a deposit for it in 1990... Now, I realize that some would view that as rather a long wait. But the reality is, that I had ordered ERAGT2038 at the same time and this was originally to have been a MKII. In the interim, I finished 2038, sold it in 2001 and built my ERAFIA. I finally decided to build 2077 up as a right hand drive "ultimate version" of the car as raced in 1969, using the Gurney Eagle motor out of my FIA. So, it has actually been in the works for only a couple of years. Even that was drawn out, in part due to the custom things I wanted done and, too, as I had told Peter to have Teddy work on other customer's ERAGTs, those with less patience than I. A long winded answer to a short question. Jim |

... that would be all customers other than Job.;) |

Now that's patience. You have it in spades. I wish I could say the same. I'm very intrigued by both the ERA slabside and GT. The info and pics are great. I wish I was close to Carlisle to see all the offerings. BTW, not to sidetrack the slabside thread, but what transaxle are you using in the GT? Keep posting away. Thanks. |
Assolutely beautiful thus far, Jim...glad you're keeping it "street" and the color combo is perfect.
Can't wait to see it finished. |
The GT has a ZF trans with a bellhousing from Safir GT40 spares/twinplate clutch.
We should be able to have some update of the slabside pictures tomorrow. The hubs have been machined and Doug is putting the rear together. So, there is a chance that it may actually be "on the ground" by tomorrow afternoon. Jim PS: I learned very early on that the way for me to deal with the "wait" was to always be working one (or more) projects ahead. That way whenever things finally came together on a particular project, it was fine with me... just so long as when they did, the project was finished the way I want it done. |

Jim,
Looking good! Are those mufflers on the cart the ones for your car? If so, any details ... make, and size? - Tim |
Coolest Pic Yet

You need to get an Autolite "Crackerbox" carb.
|
Patrick:
Thanks... it's nice to have the support! As for the mufflers, I don't know the brand. It all comes as part of the ERA undercar system. The pipes for the rear of the car are modified slightly from those on the ERAFIA due to the slightly narrower track and narrower rear frame rail width. Jim |

Most all British cars I have seen with spline hubs and wire wheels, do not use safety wire on the spinners. However, on Cobras or other cars with pin drive hubs, there usually is safety wire or some kind of lock on the spinner (like on Kirkham cars). Why is that ??? TKB |

Down on the ground and running now. Just to make things interesting, the Pertronix died so we had to install some used points into the distributor. Sounds nice.
