RAO-3 unauthorized build thread

While at ERA today, I shot a few pictures of RAO-3's 427 build:

I was down checking out the ERA cars in August and fell in love with the color on this car. Outstanding!

The latest...

Made a visit to my friends at ERA last Thursday, and my car has made it to the lift area! Here's a shot of Doug working his magic:
http://i29.photobucket.com/albums/c2...ed-1Medium.jpg

Things are moving along quite well; the engine is due to be installed this week.

I'll try to post more pics later, but here's a few shots:

This one is for Patrick:

There was another dual rollbar car there, but it was finished and gone before I got there.

http://i29.photobucket.com/albums/c2...5468Medium.jpg

Doug told me that they have adjusted the spacing somewhat on the 'stock' pedal layout from earlier cars.

http://i29.photobucket.com/albums/c2...ed-1Medium.jpg

Anyone seen a better 'butt' than that?

And for those on the fence about the brake fluid cans:

vs

Will try to get more up later.

Ray,

Great photos! I remember seeing your car 'waiting in line' when I visited ERA a few months ago. Glad to see your car is on the lift!

The (3) cans are cool ... I like the look and plan to do the same on my FIA. Next time you are there, please take a look around for 2136 if you have time, the body is molded ... the chassis should be in process, maybe take a few pictures ?? ... Thanks!

Ray, that is one fine looking car and engine. I will think of it as "RAO Speedwagon." ;)

Ray,
Did you decide to switch from the usual bribe of sandwiches to donuts or was that somebodyelse's idea?

Tim, I did look around for your car and thought I saw it outside - I did mean to take a few pics for you but got distracted and forgot. Will definitely take some shots next time I'm there in a couple of weeks. I didn't see your frame, although it may have been there as there were several others in the frame area at the time. It may also still be in the jig.

Warren:

Sandwiches? What are you thinking? Come on, you know that little "finger sandwiches "don't do it" on Dewey Street. What do you think it is, a ladies' tea for God's sake?

Hot Italian sausage grinders with hot peppers, perhaps. Provolone and blood sausage, better... Stuffed hot pepper "shooters", even better...

Remember heart stopping cholesterol (you "left" coasters take note) is the only way to go for a sure fire bribe in New Britski.

Wow Warren you must have good sources!

I arrived there early and thought that the donuts would be more appropriate for the time I arrived.

Sorry Jim, grinders are what I mean when I say sandwiches! Those others are just "snack food."
Ray, no sources other than your picture!

I'll take the dark green one in the corner. :D

I spent a lot of time looking at that one during my visit a few years back.

Here's a link to the album for those interested. I tried to get shots of all the cars that weren't covered.
