Default Need E.M. Customer Support Surrogate(s)

Hopefully some of you Everett Morrison owners out there can act as customer service reps, as the E.M. factory has not yet grasped the concept of helping those who have bought their product !
Here's our problem: we are currently installing a 351w and T56 tranny in a gen III chassis that had a 427so in it. Question: what motor mounts do we use? We also need a set of headers for the 351w, anybody have a set to sell ? And lastly (for this post anyway) is anybody running the FE original style expansion tank, and if so, how did you adapt it to the sb, and is there a look alike version designed for the sb ?
And no, you can't get this info on their web site.
Phone them or e-mail ?:LOL :
TIA
Ted

I cannot speak to your Gen III questions because the one I owned was from the 80's. But as to the expansion tank, most of the SB I have seen running them have one specifically made for the Windsor series. I think Forte sellls them, as does Enzo, IIRC. Good luck!

Ted,

The guys I go to for E-M (pre gen-iv stuff) are here: http://www.pwrperformance.com/contact.htm#contact

I talk with Fred at Autovision first since he's built as many E-Ms over the past 20 years as anyone - maybe more. If he doesn't have an answer for you he probably knows who to ask...

Let us know after you try him!

Tom

Tom: spoke to Fred today. He said of all the E.M.s he built, none were small blocks !!
Said we would have to start from scratch at the frame rails and build/weld on new mounts.
Need other EM owners with small blocks to weigh-in with info/pics of their mounts and headers.
We did get a response e-mail from Julie today saying they all are sick with the flu, and would contact us when they are feeling better.
Did get the engine & tranny in today using some very compact mounts from a bronco. Engine is sitting a little high, but we need headers to determine the final position.
Hopfully a photo of the header on the drivers side from someone with a small block would show us where to position the engine.

Ted

Check with Kirkham for the expansion tank for a small block. I believe they make a very nice one. It should fit any small block. It should not matter who the manufacture is.

I am installing a small block in my Gen IV, send me an email to cay5628@sbcglobal.net and I'll send you some close ups of the mounts.
EM made my headers for the small block, basically they are same as the bog block ones with small block flanges. Tom at EM bought small block Ford engine to mock up the engine mounts and headers.

Ted,

Ooops sorry! Forgot Fred (and I) have no SB experience

Did you try Power Performance in Iowa - their number is on the same link, and they make the chassis too - a near clone of the original E-M chassis. Maybe they'll have a set of weld in SB mounts? Chad should be a good guy to ask.

Failing that, you'll need to switch to a BB

Tom

Talking with Tom the Gen IV has a universal motor mount. You may be able to get one through Tom at EM.
