Default What's my build number?

I bought my E-M this past fall from the original Fla. owner. It was delivered in 2001.
Does the EM VIN indicate my build number?
I have no idea how many cars they built before mine.

Thanks
Bill

Yes, the first 7 characters are the model- EM427SC. The next 4 are the build number. The last 6 are the date the order was placed. Mine was built in 1999 and is number 1260.

Thanks, Scott for clearing up that question for me. That issue popped up while I was talking to Brent from Washington state this week.

I did not get much documentation, and still have a lot to learn about my car. I do know she is a Gen III, built by E-M.

I purchased my 1993 EM Cobra about six months ago in FL. I am also trying to track its history. I did a FL title search and got records of all owners. I enquired through EM web site if there was any documentation. They sent me a copy of original record of sale. I was amazed how helpful they were after all these years.

X2, djb102954!

E-M was pretty helpful when I contacted them after my purchase in November. I got a copy of my car's MSO as well.

Have fun with your new toy. I know I will, as soon as Spring gets here!

Bill

I built my EM between 1997-2000. Where do you find these build numbers?

The build number is in the EM Vin. EM427SC(XXXX =Build number)(XXXXXX = Build date)
EX EM427SC1051101593 would be car #1051 and build date is October 15th 1993

I didn’t get an EM vin I bought a title and vin plate from a 1966 Ford and that’s how I registered it.

It would not be hard for us to issue you new EM vin plates. If you know what the OG vin is Or original owner.

I Gene Clevenger is the original owner purchase kit through Fred Gimbel. But if it’s all ready registered as a1966 Ford do I even need an EM vin? I do have some electrical schematics but not enough on the turn signals which consist of 2 relays.

Fred Gimbel of autovision had my car painted in 2002 I think he used the same silver stripes for most of his builds, does anyone have silver stripes from Fred and the paint code for them? Thanks
