Jeez, what awful photos. Even a point-and-clicker should know to set the white balance when shooting under artificial light.

According to the FFR registry
Pat Wilson built FFR 4839. He lives(lived) in St. Mary's, Georgia, he finished his build on October 9th, 2004 and is painted Majestic Red Metallic and Galaxy Silver. Pat was in the Navy as of December 2004 the last time he logged in to the ffcobra forum. Bill S. |
Thank you all. I would like to end this wayward thread by saying thank you all for the information.
This car is being marked as an authentic CS licensed Shelby Cobra. When I told the auctioneer it was not a CS licensed replica he was quite disappointed. He did not believe me at first and was actually speechless when I told him it was made by Factory Five Racing and that CS only licensed his through Superformance. I told him all this yesterday. This thread was to check my facts. The car is extremely clean and I don't believe there is a starting price. So if anybody wants one they are accepting bids over the phone. Thanks All. |
I attended the auction; it sold today for $67,000.

It had these features: - a 3-Link solid axle - 302 w carb - CSX dash - Lowback stock seats (looked like leather) - carpeted trunk - 17" Team III wheels - polished sheet metal engine area - undercoated - Hoops - Polished FFR louvers - 4 into 4 headers - ceramic exhaust - chrome roll bar (single) - FFR hood hinge - FFR stock trunk hinges (external) It had 65xx miles It is a Mk II, FFR48xx VIN plate said "Cobra" Shelby American Autioneer sold it as a "Shelby". Very well made FFR. Do we know who built it? |

On side note, lot # 73 (Lone Star extended wheel base) Sold for $34,100 at the Barrett Jackson auction yesterday. A very bland build (IE: donor motor with nowhere near the 300+HP the seller stated), not well detailed, ugly bolt on wheels, no chrome or extras to be seen, but nice paint and interior..This goes to show that most people do not know what they are looking at, they see a shape similar to the original, in a color they desire, and they keep raising their hands in order to try and win it. There is a nice 900 series SPF(351W/385hp powered) in Metallic green and another beautiful late MK II FFR (42xx I believe) that will go over the block today or tomorrow, I'd be disappointed in they do not go for more than the one mentioned above.......But again, it all depends on the bidder and their particular mood.
