Question Has anyone fitted a Floor mounted pedalbox in an FFR ?

I have a friend who is thinking about doing this. Wanted see if there was someone that can advise
whether it was worth the effort.

Thanks,
Hersh

I have made them for CSX's and CCX's. The guys that have switched from hung to floormounted like them. They not only look the part but the pedal pads swivel and follow your feet. I haven't tried one on the underside of a FFR footbox yet.

Thanks Bruce, I'll keep an eye out for those photos.
Better yet send me a PM when you get them.

Mick, I have threatened to put a floor box in my Midstates. It just appears to be a better system to me.

The Midstates is pretty similar to the CCX isn't it Hersh? The CSX has a flat sloped footbox bottom, the CCX is level on the bottom and kicked up at the front. I have some kicking around if you wanted to try the pedal box under your car.

Thumbs up

Mick, Mate ! that box is awesome.

Yeah, the Midstates and the CCX's are pretty darn close. Me thinks they are cousins.

Thanks for the offer. I will probably take you up on it at a later time. Once I get totally moved into the new house, I plan on a complete redo of my old 24yr old Midstates.

I believe some of the guys on here have used a Midstates body on their CCX frame as they have shutdown production from the CCX molds even though they're just sitting there.

ERA has floor-pivoting pedals like the original Cobras, plus a removable aluminum box mounted under the chassis which surrounds and protects the pedals, pedal shaft, master cylinders, etc., from dirt and weather.

Such a system would make a fine addition to an FFR, making the new Mark IV even more authentic.

ERA mounts directly to the frame and the pedals come off the same pivot point

Bending the pedal braces over can make a big difference as well. I've sat in Cobras where my 12EEE's really could not push just one pedal at a time -- getting just an inch or two more in spacing makes a huge difference.

I bought the Wilwood floor mount peddles to mount into my FFR but no photos as their not installed yet. I just like the feel of the floor mounted peddles better.
