Since I live in the deep South where summers get to upper 90`s to low 100`s , I thought I needed an oil cooler . Long story short ... my oil temps during summer never got over 160 degrees F . Added an oil temp thermostat unit and problem disappeared . Now temps , even in the winter easily get to 180 and the water temp is more stable .
If you just want the look , do what several others here suggest ... put the cooler in , but don`t connect it .
