Best looking Puke Tank ?
Who has the best racy, looking puke tank ?
Noy like the original tanks. Brushed aluminum is what I like. I bought a very nice pair of custom aluminum valve covers from Pat, that have welded bungs with a AN fitting on each cover, to hook up braided lines to the firewall. |
Puke tank
I have got one of these, but I will anodise it flat black as the rest of my all alloy engine is bling bling enough!
http://petersonfluid.carshopinc.com/.../43603/08-0400 I have seen this tank mounted directly behind the engine in the original position, I am mounting mine high up on the inner guard above left side exhaust so it will not be that visible, and the plumbing will naturally drain back to my dry sump tank! |
Kevin you should use an old Folgers coffe can......it will look awesome on your car......
|
..I'm looking for a Jack Daniels bottle of sufficient size myself. :)
|
Bottle!....a KEG for me please
|
See your budies at Dove
FUNFER 2 Kevin Dove has one without their name on it If this is for the surge tank on the motor. Cobra restorers if they are still around have the original setup. Build your own would work too. How about a BALLS jar??? Rick L.

Get a biggun' Kev. You'll need it for all that Pop's blow-by that you're going to have!%/:rolleyes::eek:;)
|
Kirkham does

I'm thinking about buying this one from Southern Automotive.

Bob- I think you need to pour some "RUST" penitent in that old brain of yours. :p
Excaliber- actually, the Jack bottle would look great,.......in a Rat Rod ! Ricky- with the new motor's HP, I made need a balls jar under my crotch. Dave- I know I'll blow by your old butt ! ;) Where do you find the part page on Kirkhams site ? http://www.kirkhammotorsports.com/ |
Gary- I see the overflow tank, not a puke tank ?
|
I've never been able to find a parts page on Kirkham's site other than to go into the car pricing and options and most everything they sell is priced there.
|
Ok, yes it's in the car pricing.

Guess people call these things different names. I've always called the radiator inlet tank the puke tank as it allows the system to puke the air out. Then the oil beather tank is to vent the crank case but I know some call that the puke tank. Any way I think Southern Automotive makes a great radiator tank and Kirkham and Cobra Restorers both have a similar oil vent tank.
|
Gary- (I meant the tank on southern automotive) ;)
I agree, nobody seems to call each piece correctly. I'll follow what the Kirkhams call them ! |
Kevin, the Kirkham piece is built well....no more leaks!!!! I have one and love it.
|
If you're talking their coolant take, it's awesome.
I'm looking for a Oil Vaper tank. I don't care much for the original style, I'm wanting a more modern tank. Like this one. And I would polish it. http://i39.tinypic.com/1z6sguq.jpg |
Kevin,
I have run the oil tank on several cobras in the past with 1 on each side on 2 cars and then just 1 with both side running into it. I can't read the name real well but it looks like the Moroso tanks I have bought in the past........ |
Kevin, sorry. I need one for my oil tank and have been looking at this one.
