Well, I think you eventually get there... you just seem to think very slowly.:( But that's better than not thinking at all.

No offense to Bob, but, I'd rather listen to SRV, Ronnie Earl, Muddy or Pinetop in the blues genre, as for storytellers (not that the aforementioned are not), I'll take Bruce over Bob...Brent I have your back if you need a musician in your corner, I got this:D

Uhhh, now that's were ERA Chas comes in. I'll bet you didn't know that he used to drum for Toots and the Maytals. Back when he was younger, that is....

When Ruthie says come see her
In her honky-tonk lagoon
Where I can watch her waltz for free
’Neath her Panamanian moon
An’ I say, “Aw come on now
You must know about my debutante”
An’ she says, “Your debutante just knows what you need
But I know what you want”
Oh, Mama, can this really be the end
To be stuck inside of Mobile
With the Memphis blues again

Yeah, I'm a Bob Dylan fan too.

But if you really want to hear something, run some solid (flat tappet) lifters on a hydraulic cam! Ah.... those were the good (budget constrained) ole' days...

Pete and I have talked many times, and although he hasn't ordered an engine yet, he has emphasized the need for durability, reliability, and the ability to drive long stretches at a time while cruising.

My recommendation would be the hydraulic roller...since it's a little more than a "toy" with this type of reasoning.

I'm going with a hydraulic roller cam, just was curious the difference of sound with an FE engine, thanks Brent, I'm getting close, can't wait for one of your 600hp tourque monsters for my Kirkham, nicknamed PRIDEnJOY...;)

FR65, IMHO you're right on track. Although I do like the little clickity-clickity sound of solids (I have them in my Boss302), I'm never going to spin my FE to the point where I need them. Therefore I went with a hydraulic roller and I haven't looked back. I think you'll be happy with what Brent builds you.

I was going to suggest you try the hyd roller cam. I just changed to one and the difference in sound if very subtle but noticeable. It's more of a rumble and less of a crack than the flat tappet cam. I like it..
