Lokar Dipstick for FE
I just called Lokar about a nice polished aluminum w/ braided stainless flexable hose dipstick for my 428 CJ. They are going to make me one and it will only take a couple of days if anyone is interested. They need to know the diameter of the hole, and length of the stick. I will measure that tonight and order one tomorrow.
Lokar's telephone number is 865-966-2269 just in case someone else is looking for a cool looking dipstick that works accurately.

This is a small world. I did this very thing just this past monday. I was dealing with Denver from Lokar. Apparently the lathe has been tied up for this week... Anyway. SHould be a nice additional to the total chromage on the FE.

I would be interested. Please post your measurements. I would like to know the tube length and dip stick length that you are using. I had a stick for my engine, but did not have a tube so I made a crude one at right length to get the oil level right in my Canton pan (~1/2 inch below the windage tray). I would like to see how this compares to the stock setup. Alternatively you could just tell me how much the full mark sticks out of the tube if the assembly is removed from the engine (make sense)?
Thanks
Gary

Dip Stick
My dipstick measured about 12 1/2" long and the diameter of the end that goes into my block is .375" dia by 1.300" long. The stick part is adjustable ie: you cut it off at the handle (it is held in place with a set screw). I used my old dipstick for a reference as to the inside the pan length.

Cost
I looked for my receipts last night and I think it cost me $45.00 and took about 4 days.

Hmmm.. you got a deal.. I orderd mine.. It was tough getting Lokar to take the order (it was a monday) I got referred to a couple big discount retailers at first, Summitt Racing, Jeg's.. Of course they told me no such part was made.. If it isn't in the catalog it must not exist..
So, back to Lokar I went. It was $54 plus shipping, ($9??) It was still a deal as far as I am concerned.. It isn't here yet but I'm sure it will be wonderful when it comes.
Thanks for the info.
