I'm looking for the following parts....

I'm looking for a 427 side oiler block, a set of C5 medium riser heads, and a Sidewinder intake.

If anyone has any of these parts or know someone who does, please let me know.

Thought I had found a block, an FE forum member pointed me to a guy on Craigslist who had a '72 427 service block. I texted him and asked him what he wanted for it, he said $4000. I said, that's fine, will you ship it. His reply was, "Well, I'm not sure I want to sell it now."

Not sure why people have to be flakes, but they do.

Isn't the BT intake I have a close to exact copy of a Sidewinder? If so, Holman Moody may have one more.

blykins 04-23-2016 06:21 PM

It is, but customer is wanting all original parts.

Have you checked with DenBeste or Bob Gingold?

lippy 04-24-2016 11:43 AM

I see them on eBay also

blykins 04-24-2016 11:51 AM

Where at Jeff?

I did a search and just found a hogged out Shelby repop.

I just did a search too and the closest thing was a Ford Racing 427 (new version). I assume you are looking for an NOS cast iron block, right?
They come and go on Ebay occasionally.

lippy 04-24-2016 01:26 PM

I see them pop up from time to time. Nothing specific but I'll look also and let you know if I find anything.

Hey Brent ... got a Sidewinder sitting in the garage with " Cobra " cast on the front of it . Ran it for a while on my 427 Galaxie before I got a BT intake . If interested , I`ll take some pictures and e mail them to you . I know one of the pushrod guide castings has part missing , but I never had any problems. Thought about having it welded and remachined , but never did as I had no problems .
Looks good and should clean up ok .

Have to take the dog in for surgery tomorrow , so that will be a bad day for getting anything else done .

Bob

427 Parts

Bobcat, If Bret doesn't respond or want that Cobra intake I am interested. I have one with Shelby on it. Phil

Bob, shoot me some pics when you get a chance.

Hope the dog does ok.

I can get TP parts, but they are not too street friendly with just 427 cubes.

Yeah, flakes....
A few years ago I found an NOS sideoiler in Northern Cal. Talked through it with the guy and even flew up, rented a car and drove to the middle of nowhere to see it. Made the deal, shook hands...the whole bit. Got home and worked out wire transfer and shipping and got the call..."I changed my mind, I'm not selling it". Now that pi$$ed me off! Especially since I hit a deer in the rental car on my way back to the airport!

But you could use the block, right?

Could use the block, but there's no telling what he's actually wanting for that engine.

That Sidewinder is the hogged out intake that I was referring to up above....

I would have gotten back in my car and drove back up to Northern California.

Originally I was on the hunt for original FE parts as well. And essentially all I found was crap and more crap. I got fed up fairly quickly and decided why the heck would I put original parts in a replica anyway. Made no sense to me, but I wasted time figuring it out.

Yeah, but this one got my attention. Wrapped in plastic and cosmolene, still had tags on it and all paint marks etc. And not a service block...

I was just going to buy it and stash it until someone like Brent came along!;)

They are still out there, but getting scarce....

Dominik 09-13-2016 08:35 AM

$1.600, is that what such intake costs now? Wow...
