Default cam offset bushings

When I dissassembled my engine I noticed a bushing around the dowel pin. I received no other bushings with the car. Now I'm replacing the camshaft. I may require other bushings to adjust (degree in). The sprocket has allready been altered.Jeg's only mention a Mr. Gasket kits for Chevey's and small block Fords. Who makes a kit?What will fit?Where?
This will require some input from you guys..Counter people will not know or offer any information that their computer doesn't say.

Cam offset bushings for degreeing in cam are not auto supply store items. Local speed shop should have them, as well as machine shop, and cam mfg. FE's aren't as popular anymore, and chances are you have the Chevy or Ford one anyway.

Need bushing OD, and cam dowel OD to be sure. Kit should have 2 deg, 4 deg, & 6 deg bushing.

Hi Michael,
The use of offset dowel bushings is pretty old school technology.
If it were me, I would spend $75.00 and buy a new timing set with a 9-position adjustable crank sprocket. I'm not for spending money for the sake of it, but a new timing set will make it much easier to degree your cam in. If you are not going to degree your cam, (gasp!) , how can you be sure that the old, bushing adjustable cam sprocket is going to put the cam "in" where you want it? At least with a new timing set you can install it "straight up" and be sure the cam is "in" where it should be.

I would forgo the offset dowels myself, and buy a new true roller timing chain with advanced and retarded keyways. Always degree your cam, never just put it in "heads up" sometimes even good cam grinders have it a couple of degrees off. I got a bunch of cams last year that were all 6 degrees retarded. Wouldn't have found that and I would have wondered where all the horsepower went.

OK which brand and part#?And where did you see it for $75 for a FE?Crane is the only one mentioning a 9 way crank sprocket,but a FE set is not shown. Cloyes showes a hex adjustable set .I don't see a FE mentioned .Didn't find Cloyes 's web site to explore further. Cloyes looks like the supplier for Comp and Crower and others,the# 3108 continues to appear for FE applications.Imay have misseed something in my browsing ,I do that a lot.

Get the best one a "Rollmaster" made of billet steel with 9 keyways for degreeing. Machined in Australia and chain is from Germany as I recall. Cobra Restorers used to sell them.

The Lunati that I installed in my engine was retarded 6 degrees from the factory, and it said so on the box!! I know that it can deliver more torque by retarding, but why don't they just grind it that way to begin with? I used the Cloyes timing chain and gears and advanced it 2 degrees which still left me 4 degrees retarded. I don't know how it will perform because I haven't cranked it yet, but for sure it did rob me of a few horsepower.

The have the Dyna-gear billet tru-roller for 76.99.
Part # 78508 for FE engines. I have used many Dyna-Gear sets and I'm very happy with the fit and quality.
They also show the Scat FE cranks for 569.00
