Default rotating assembly recomendation

I am looking for a recommendation for the rotating assembly for a 428 FE engine I am building. Is there a company that sells the crank, rods and pistons all balanced and ready to go?

I will be doing street driving only but would like some moderate HP. Block will be bored to .030 over.

I'm new at this so bare with me!

No.........I have Eagle Rods and TRW pistons, the crank is original 10-10 undersize......balanced and all that stuff....I've turned it to 6500 on many occasions without problems......do the oiling mods to insure that your 428 survives.......

go to http://www.flatlanderracing.com/ they sell scat aftermarket 428 internally ballanced crankshafts, j+e pistons + rods. I will probally catch some ____ for this but there is a scat crank that is built to use chevy rods (wider bearings). best to call them for details but the cranks will be going up in price on 1 nov 02. As for standard lenght ford replacement rods I have only found 3 manufactures "crower, eagle, and shelby"

Sheppard arn't those trw pistons heavy?

HI FZABSKI. I have a 10-10 428 crank in my motor, eagle rods, araias pistons, ATI dampener, and 30 lbs flywheel. 100 psi oil spring in a high volume pump. I had everything balanced together and spin my motor to 6500 rpm with no problem. The crank has been cross drill to help the oiling problem of FE rod bearings. If you donot beat the car hard all the time, what you have is OK. If you get the power bug, you should go with the forged crank, steel rods with the chevy rod bearing and not worry. I am guessing that the kit is about 3500.00$ with all the balancing and machine work done. Next year I am going to a 484 crank kit and 10.0 compression. A bigger blower cam and roller lifters also. I am hooked on power. I have to beat a dragon next year at the Run&Gun in street class. Good Luck ps spending more money now on stronger parts will save you down the road. Remember that is part of the family and work in progress.

Hi FZABSKI,
All the answers are right on the money. I am a Scat dealer, and the new cranks are in, right as I write this message. They are going through the machining process and should be ready to ship in a week or two.
There are three cranks available, and two types of rods.
The cranks are a standard 428 Ford crank with Stock rods journal size-2.438.
The next crank is a 4.125 stroker crank with BB Chevy 2.200 rod journal size which is wider also.
Finally, the third crank is the same as #2, but its 4.25 Stroke.
They are waiting on the stock FE size H-Beam rods, but have the BB Chevy H-Beams in stock up too 7.100 length.

I sell the crank, rods, and JE or Ross flat top custom pistons, balanced for $2,495.95.
If your interested, give me a call at 916-339-0427.
Thanks, Tom.. FE Specialties
