Shelby Alu Date Code Correct?

For the purposes of new car registration with the Department of Motor Vehicles, is the Shelby Aluminum 427 a date code correct replacement for an original iron 427? The reason I ask this is that certain states or provinces allow the new vehicle to be licensed by the year of engine block. This can be a very important fact when it comes to smog control and impact bumper requirements.

I don't believe the Shelby blocks have any date code on them.

Sorry im a little slow on this, but on Shelby's web site, it says that it is a replacment for the factory 390/406/427/428 block, here is Shelby's web site http://www.carrollshelbyent.com/engi...inum_block.cfm
