Default 428 irrigation engine

I have and old ford 428 irrigation engine. I would like some information about them, such as valve train and bottom end, and if they able to perform like a car engine. If anyone knows anything about this could you please send me an email at brochhaberman@yahoo.com

I would really appreciate it.

Default 428 Industrial Engines

Hi. I saw your post. If it is a typical Industrial Engine, the Block and Crank on your engine is identical to a CJ. So is the balancer, T/C and small parts. The Intake is set up for LPG and the Heads are the 330 MD Truck variety. They are not any good for performance use. The Oil Pan and P/U will work well in a boat or HD Truck, but not a car. The Rods are typical C7AE-B units with 3/8 bolts(non CJ) and are good(when prepped right with ARP bolts) to 6500 rpm or so at around 600 hp. Have your engine checked and properly machined, bolt on a good set of Heads and Intake with a nice Cam and you won't be able to tell the difference between it and a 427!!! Hope this helps.
