Mine were the original steel rubber 62 Gallaxy. two bolts to block ,two studs in the chassis per side. They had sagged over the years and were shimmed up to get back original oilpan clearence.I havent found any of the urithane mounts.

I have LTD FE Mounts (3 bolts on the engine / 4 on frame). I don't have a saftey strap and they are not drilled. I have thought of using a torque arm on the engine to the frame. I really don't think I will need to use any special devices as far as the mounts are concerned. How much horsepower are you going to have?

Hey Tim,
I use the stock 3 bolt rubber mounts on mine. For a torque strap I use a march altenator bracker (chrome rod with adjustable heim joints at either end) from the head to the frame. Look in my gallary if you want to see a pic. Someone else just recently asked about this so I had the pics. In my case the torque strap is necessary to keep the side pipes from hitting the body.

I don't think you're being boycotted. Just that you listed
all the options and it's basically up to you. I have stock rubber
mounts, I get a light ticking of the headers on the frame at idle,
in gear (a little rough idle). Nothing major. I think it's
the trans mounts that really affect things anyways, at least at
the power levels you're contemplating. I did look for urethane
mounts; none available straight-up for the FE, but you could
make yourself a set using an old set of mounts and buying either
the raw materials or an actual set of mounts with enough material
to do it with.
