Maybe we need a dyno to measure who is the most offensive?
Gentlemen, please. |
Alot of people would be very deadly with a blow gun.

:D as long as they didn't inhale. |

Dano, they'd still be deadly- just kill themselves.:p |
Sizzler.....
Sizzler..... could you please message me offline? I mean you no harm....
Thanks |
Thank you all for your kind thoughts and offers.
So far I have accumulated a 351C tunnel ram, a Weiand single plane 4v, and plan to make my own PSE Black Widow. Anyone here with any experience with such a project (also going to use the valley plate from an early, little, Hemi)? I am also planning on injecting said manifold once done. What else? I have a complete 390GT 4V engine, running when removed, sitting on a pallet, waiting for the rest of the parts. Thinking Schubeck lifters... anyone with experience using those? Right now I'm mostly waiting for the new Blue Thunder FE heads as Edelbrock quality seems to have slipped in the last few years, and saving up some more money... I asked once before for the name of the shop which couldn't make an efi system work, despite many hours billed. Never got an answer, so I'm a little leery of using any shops associated or advertising here. Right now I'm sort of looking/thinking about who would be doing the machining/assembling of the engine. Would definitely need to be someone with an engine dyno of some sort. Sounds like everyone's happy, good to hear:) |
I have personally dealt (purchased parts ) with Rob McQuarie @ Blue Oval Performance, and George Anderson from Gessford Machine ( whom I met at Run & Gun), and both of them have been excellent to deal with. They spent time with me on the phone discussing FE issues when they didn't have to. I have full confidence that either of them could build me a reliable, high output engine. From others posts, I think that Eric at Perf. Eng would be fine, Parham at Southern Automotive, and recently Keith Craft all could build me a similar reliable engine. Actually, I think there are too many engine builders to pick from. I don't think a FE dyno challange will help anybody in the long run. I think customer satisfaction keeps the orders coming in for all of these engine builders. I wish I had enough money and car projects to give each of them an order. If I have an engine built for me, it's going to be a hard decision on who to order it from.
Sizzler, contact Kinsler fuel injection, as they build multi-port EFI systems, with their intake or any intake that you supply. They also handle different fuel management EFI systems. Schubeck lifters I think are the solid lifters that are rounded on the bottom. I wouldn't use these, as they slide on the cam lobe. Flat tappet lifters rotate (spin) on the cam, and rollers of course roll. I don't think sliding on the cam lobe is a good thing. Talk to Comp CAms or Crane Cams for their opinion. |

I share your opinion of Blue Oval Performance and Rob. Great guy, great parts. Gives you exactly what you need. I think the shop that does the manifold to absorb the tunnelram will be doing most of the injection conversion as well. Can't start on that until I see how my $25 manifold matches up with the new heads though, port to port. High dollar build obviously. :) Thanks |
Sizzler Do the intake your self. Buy the FI kit from Kinsler. Do you have a drill press?? You need a step drill bit. I made my own intake with Dove MR single plane intake. Drill the 8 holes and have a welder tig them up. 500.00$ for the manifold, 25.00$ to tig the bungs in. 30.00$ for injector rails. Finished product PRICLESS.:D

Dave - I could be wrong about the Schubek lifters but the one's SFiredog showed me looked just like my solid Crower units except they were feather light - which is the point. They appeared flat on the bottom and cupped correctly on top. If I were doing it over again i ante up change and buy them! Best wishes!
