Who to purchase the remote oil filter adapter from
The 427 for 4766 is coming together and should have it completed this weekend. Still need to purchase the remote oil filter adapter. They are very pricey at Kirkham or Shelby, wondering if there is another vendor who is selling a quality item at a lower price.
Also going to need a alternator braket for it and alternator.
Looking for recommendations on these items as well.

Check the Summit catalogue as well. Prices seem reasonable.

I just want to be clear on this. I am looking for the remote filter mount that mounts on the front of the FE motor (this consist of two parts) and the adapter that mounts were the oil filter currently screws into the block. Since the oil cooler is coming on the Shelby there is really no need to purchase the whole system. and I plan to save money by making up my own lines.
thanks,
Morgan

Right....same advice applies. You can buy whatever pieces you want I know from Canton and probably Summit.
These remote installations are pretty standard on most of the quality replicas, that's why they're selling them.

I PURCHASED A DUEL REMOTE FILTER FROM SUMMIT---
MAKE SURE YOU MOUNT IT WHERE IT IS EASY TO DROP THE FILTER FOR CHANGING-- IT CAN GET TO BE A MESS.

I would go to the boys in Atlanta.... cobrarestorers.com
Especially if authenticity is a concern....

Most restorers and manufacturers buy their parts from places like Canton, Summit and Finish Line, even Kirkham and Shelby. That's fine if you want to pay the "middle man."

I highly recommend a company just down the street from you called System One. They sell a reuseable racing filter and a remote oil filter adapter as well. Look them up on the internet. Actually I will look them up and edit this post.
Sorry,I can't find their internet site but if you have a speed shop near you they can get them for you as well as Summit

RedCSX,
The Shelby billet adaptor that bolts onto the side of the FE block is really nice. However there is a cast aluminum unit made by TD Performance Products. It is part number 1015. I believe the cast TD unit was about half the price of the $60 Shelby billet adaptor.
After seeing both, I opted for the Shelby adaptor.

All,
Thanks for the input, I just ordered all the parts I need for the remote oil filter. Plan to make up the line myself.
So what size fitting will I need? What length ines should I have?

Red:
Most installations use a -10 line or -12. Wouldn't recommend any smaller than -10.
Line length can be rough measured by you once you have all the parts in place but always leave yourself about 6" extra in rough length. Like most things making it shorter is not a big deal, making it longer takes a whole bunch of work.
Follow the old addage of measure twice and cut once.

THANK YOU GEORGE
George,
Thank you, extremely helpful information for me, and I am sure for other members of club cobra. Do you sell the machined plate that goes over the oil filter area?
Now maybe you can teach me how to post pictures.

Morgan...several different banner add contributors sell the billet block plates...buying from one of them is perhaps a way to support those who support the expense of this site. I can't support buying from Summit or these other special interest companies...they certainly support and do much for the automotive industry but little or nothing for Club Cobra people....pick any of the component contributors and allow them the opportunity to help you with the part requirements and then ask a ton of questions of the general membership as they "have been there and done it".
Regards, George

Thanks again
George,
I had purchased all the parts from Finish Line/Cobra Accessories on Monday. Although I do purchase a lot from Summit and feel they have some of the best customer service in the industry, I decided to deal with a Cobra vendor in this case. Thanks again for the valuable input.
