If you're not building a race engine, they'll probably work just fine after a good reconditioning. I just wouldn't try to turn 6500 rpm with them for more than a few seconds at a time. I'm putting reconditioned 390 rods in my 428, and I'm hoping to make about 475 hp. But its going to be a street motor and won't see those kind of rpms very often, and certainly not for more than a few seconds at a time. I guess it just depends on what the intended use is going to be.

USD34?
Is that each or for 8? just get them and trow them in the bin if you don't like them. sometimes I hear about very cheap things that I tend to order two, and throw one away immediately just for the feeling, because I had to trash a lot of expensive parts (call it R&D...) what I mean is, that I have hundreds of $$ of unused stuff in the garage. hello rick, hello hal. dominik, cape town |
