Default Valve Cover Plug Wire Retainer

I'm looking for a plug wire retainer that will fit the clip on top of the valve covers. The valve covers are 427 Cobra style. The individual holes in the stock retaining clip are too small for my 8.5mm wires.

Does anybody make this type of retaining clip?

Do a search on this; it was covered a short time ago, and someone mentioned some wire retainers that fit your application.

I opened up the holes in the stock clip maybe 1/16", with a reamer, and that was enough for the MSD 8.5 wires.

There are several ways to do it. think one person took his stock clip and had a billit one made with larger holesfor the plug wires.

Check out Finish Line. They sell the exact wire clips you are seeking. Fits directly on the Cobra 427 cast valve cover. Pics on my gallary.

Those are the ones you'll have to open up just a bit, for the 8.5 wires.

I bought a pair from a local Ford dealer. You have to ask the parts people to look up the number, but they have the original style clip with a bigger hole size. The bad news is that they charge an arm and a leg for them. But they look and work great.
