Any FE engine building videos?

I've never built an engine before, but I was thinking about freshening my 390 over the winter as a bit of a project. I have Steve Christs book, which is good of course, but for a person who is new to building an engine, having the movement and discussion points, seems like it would be a better way for me to learn.

I realize it's not rocket science, and I've done it in my head a bunch, but there's something daunting about the thought of actually doing it for some reason.

Are there any FE build videos out there? If not, is there a video you would suggest? reason.

Brent there is 1 video on VHS that has a basic buildup. Muscle power on a budget MUSTANG Mild to Wild. made in 1995. Try Simitar.com. Outside of the Mag buildups this is the only one I know of. Rick L. I don't have a copyer to put it on disc. SORRY

there was a video on restoring an original 427 street car, and I'm sure it had some aspects on rebuilding the engine.

Read any and all the magazine articles from Back inthe day. They will detail alot of the neccesary stuff, otherwise it's just paying attention to details.
There was on the web an article for a Hop up 390 buildup done by Edlebrock. It's out there.

The DIY network had a pretty good one on a 427FE build for a Unique Cobra a few years ago. Several episode parts to the engine build but you can still see clips on the DIY network site. Not the most detailed version but a good general overview.

I second what Paul wrote above. I paid for all the articles written by Doc and they have been invaluable in my build-up. The stroked and bored 390 puts out some pretty impressive dyno figures and looks like it will last as well. He and his block man did it right. They might still have the stroked motor for sale as he had to build another one after the original one featured in the article was stolen.

I'm using the article to build up my own 390 this winter. Already started buying the component parts.

Not video, but two other books that have been enormously useful to me have been "The Engine Builder's Handbook" by Tom Monroe, and "The Step-by-Step Guide to Engine Blueprinting" by Rick Voegelin.

They're not specifically FE, but lots of practical information.
