Excellent! You might also inquire as to whether they're feeling better about flat tappet solid lifter cams now.

No problem at all. We have at least a hundred customers with 482's from Keith Craft. (Other guys have made them too). The problem with these motors on the street is usually the nut behind the wheel...not the motor.

Frankly, I love them WAY more than a small block on the street--especially if you live anywhere near the mountains with elevation changes. Even Sandwich wants to change his small block motor out to a big block.

Default 482 big block

As Dwight has mentioned earlier, I have a Keith Craft 428 stroked to 461 in my Hurricane Cobra and have been very happy with it. It has 600 hp and 619 ft.lbs. trq on the dyno. It handles well around town and has outstanding torque when you need it. It runs down the I-state at 75 mph/2100 rpm with ease. Keith has built another motor for me, a 408 stroker for my Daytona Coupe. This engine is also very well suited for the street with plenty of Jazz (527hp/557trq) and will cruise on the I-state at about the same speed and rpm as my cobra. I know there are other good engine builders out there, but I have personally seen Keith's shop and know him to be very honest and efficient with your money. If I can answer any questions, contact me.
Best of luck with your endeavor.
Coach Mike
