A few gas stations still sell 100 octane. Do a search in Google for 100 octane and the area where you live, and you'll find auto forums with details on where to find it.

Default I don't recommend AvGas

Back in 1976, I had a '65 Corvette 350ci with 11:1 CR . I decided to see how well AvGas would work, so I just drove up to the fueling area at the Van Nuys Municipal Airport in CA. Back then, 100+ Premium was just about 40 cents/gal. and the AvGas was double that. I think I had about 8 gal. pumped in and drove off. The Vette did not like that stuff at all, if I recall, it was sluggish and a little hard to start, and after a REALLY short time and not wanting to damage the motor, I topped off the tank with premium gasoline to dilute that AvGas, and eventually she was running better.

Most FBOs will not pump AvGas into a car or container as it is not legal....no road taxes, etc.

100LL is a tricky subject. I buy it at the local airport (where they are used to seeing me), but they do get really nasty about putting it in road-going vehicles, so I would usually fill a couple of 5 gallon containers, in addition to the airplane. Only had one old grouch rag me for it. On the negative side, I saw no real improvment in power over 87+ and a SMALL amount of 104+ octane booster. I empasize small, because too much octane booster makes your plugs look like you are burning chocolate syrup. 100LL is dyed to be able to distinguish it from jet A, and that dye is forever coloring my intake manifold....poop.

I had an 11:1 ratio in my 418, and it knocked on 93 octane.

I started using this:

This stuff works (unlike the crap at Auto Zone), and really can raise pump gas 10 "FULL" points.

Try it.

Default T/lead

I understand 100LL has 2 grams. 100/130 has 4 grams.
Unleaded 100 would be GREAT!

Check out any Shell bulk plants/distributor in your area, they may or may not sell it to you, best bet is ask for it a drum at a time.....

I get mine by the drum, that is the least they will sell and WILL NOT pump it in any vehicle.....

On a side note concerning using it, this is what I've seen:
At my home road course, there is one car which is a mid 90's Busch car, 12.5 to 1 chevy motor, he's been racing the car for five years now and has run nothing but 100LL AVGAS in it, to date, no problems.....there's at least a dozen other racers using it also, same results.....

Main reason I use it in my race car is the distributor is also a
Mustang guy/friend and sells me the stuff at his cost, I only use one drum a year... I mix it with a locally blended 110 leaded gas 50/50....

Last gas I bought, the 110 race gas was about $8.00 a gallon and the av gas was a whopping $3.45 per gallon by the drum....I end up with two drums of 105 leaded race gas which easily makes me the race season......

Started using av gas back in the early 90's on a dirt track car when the local Shell distributor was a sponsor, he would give us 10 gallons of any fuel he had for each race night,we started with 93 octane premium and he suggested we try the avgas, and it was free, so we used it with no problems... he told us he sold avgas to at least a dozen or more local racers, as long as they brought their own containers...

BTW: my 18 hp lawn mower loves it!!!!!!!!!!
