Cross Ram EFI for FE?

Does anyone sell an EFI or Weber cross ram intake for an FE?

I've seen this tunnel port intake from the old CanAm days, but I'm interested to see what is more readily available.

What are you planing on cooking up there...?

I believe TWM does a custom cross ram intake.
At least that's what they told me when I was lookin into it for my car.

I went away from it for 2 reasons.
1) it would render the hood scoop functionally useless.
2) it cost more than selling my kidney. :(

The above reasons may or may not mater to you.
In which case it would look totally bad ass!!! :D

Couple of choices for this

Craig I was looking for a cross ram myself and got some very limited info. 8-12 manifolds in your picture where made. That is all. They where tunnel ports. Rumor has it that there where a couple of HR ones. No MR ones. Wayne J. passed away about a year ago and had 1 tunnel port. I talked to him about the possiblity of making a copy to build a case. He said that a 5 grand deposit to start and he wanted a couple of manifolds free. I don't have deep pockets for this deal. Wayne was a good man and had just gotted screwed over buying a couple of crate cammer motors.
I couple of guys have used the crossram manifold with out the distributor extension housing and gone to FI. Everything is under the top and uses to throttlebodies. the injector are mounted into the runners. This is not a bad manifold but needs some work for flow. We have a guy here, Joe Craine who will fix the flow problems and help equal out the cfm to each cylinder.
I have not heard of TWM making a crossram for an FE motor. I know MOON makes a SB and well as Keisler for SB and BB. There might be something with using a setup like the old PSE manifolds and again modifing this to work. Jay Brown on FE POWER would be the one to talk to.
You can get a weber kit for side mounting on a carb base intake. Good luck Rick L.

If I don't sell the Arntz soon, the only reasonable next step is to fit an FE big block and some new side pipes. The engine set back in the Arntz would make it easier to have a cross ram than the 10 degree ITB setup.
From your two issues, #1 is no biggie, but #2 is ;)

Thanks Rick. I wish I liked the look of the dual carb cross ram manifolds because they're much easier to find! I wonder if the only option might be Hogan's or Marcella for a sheet metal intake?

Visner Engine Development fabricated a 427 FE cross ram intake manifold for me, with Imagine Injection throttle bodies.

Similar in appearance to the Can Am manifold setup.

The picture is of an Algon unit. They occasional pop up on ebay. There is a medium riser one on E-bay now.

I do not know anything about it, but on Wikipedia.

Could put one together using parts from modern engines

BXR efi crossram on a 351C adapter for a FE:

Someone in Australia is making crossrams like the one shown in this thread's first post for the 351C, which would fit on an FE adapter like the one used above. $3,500 if I remember right.

Thanks for the links, Tom. That Algon unit looks to be in great condition, but the price is a worry.

Dumpling; wow I didn't even know about the 351C to FE adapters. I did some searching and see that Jay Brown is making these shortly. The port mismatch is pretty radical, however testing showed that it wasn't a huge issue. Jay is also planning to sell the base with the regular FE port shape, so that could be the perfect starting point for mounting some throttle bodies. I'll keep an eye out for this piece from Jay in the near future.

Thanks!

Craig, if your looking for quality advise, information and parts like linkages, TBs and the like, you could do much worse than EFI Hardware in Mitcham Vic.

Throttle Bodies, EFI Fuel Pumps, EFI Regulators, Wolf 3D Engine Management Systems, EFI Hardware

Suffice to say I've been super impressed with them. YMMV.

And......MorrisonOZ/Other Manifolds

Here's Jay's intake adaptor. Imagine what a low profile setup you could make with this. Consider that the base plate is a window to allow lifter replacement without breaking into water or removing your distributor.

Jay Brown is literally taking names and handing out numbers for his first batch...which is mostly spoken for at this point. Don't know when the next batch will be available, but most likely not until next year.

Just a heads up.

More Jay Brown stuff for your consideration.

FE Intake Adapters

Enjoy.

It looks like an awesome setup hence the price...:)
