Default Engine Issue

I have a stock 1989, 302HO with fuel injection. Since I bought the car 2.5 years ago it has started on the second revolution. Saturday on a cruise we stopped to take a picture. When I tried to start it, it just spun over, no start. On the third try it fired up as normal. This happened one other time months ago. It has started fine since. When I got home I fiddled with the fuel pump relay and the pump came on every time I turned on the key. I plan to run the codes tonight.
Has anyone else had this issue and what did you find? I figure it will happen again and become more frequent until I am stranded one day if I don't find the cause. Any ideas would be appreciated.
Thanks,
Steve

Could be ignition problem. Coil breaking down at temp? There is a thin film module (not exactly sure the correct terminology) on the side of the distributor that can break down at temp. The module can be tested at an auto parts store. Have them test it several times in a row to get it hot, but be careful not to burn it up by getting it too hot.

I think you are leaning toward EFI. I would suspect ignition first. Good luck.

pardon my saying, starting fluid is a very bad idea, especially if you have any kind of compression. use gasoline.
