As I gather information on this car I notice several things that make ou car stand out. Some I think are good some -not so much. Example the nose of the car is a 427, yet the dash has the drop center of a early 289 FIA car and what is going on with the gas cap location???? Am I the only one that notices this?

Hey beastly, The gas cap location drove me crazy, I just couldn't have it there so I made a mold off an aluminum body COBRA, cut my fender and placed the new peice in the cut protion and relocated the gas cap where it should be.
I didn't get the dashboard extention.

I am not a purest nor am I that good with fiberglass!!! I am actually thinking of embracing the odd gas cap location and going with a lemans cap -sort of the FIA look? post a pic I think you may be the streetbeast owner that has done this.

Thanks Beastly for this place to post about our unique cars.Sent my first post through the "report" oops! Personally like the gas filler location keeping the fender lines clean, spent time getting filler pipe bent to not stress anything. What drew me to CMC was some of it's selling points, the cubby behind the seats, correctness to original body lines wize, great fiberglass and Gel Coat which mine was never changed still white.

I also love the storage behind the seats. Fits the ice chest perfectly!!! The beast body is by far the strongest fiberglass out there...granted I am not an engineer but I have slept at a holiday inn.

The one thing that did not float my boat was the way CMC suggested pop riveting the body to the frame.I drilled and tapped 8 holes then shimmed the body to eliminate all stress to the fiberglass.Changed a few other things to fit my needs, battery in the trunk because of heat and defrost unit.Went with clutch cable, never liked hydraulics in the clutch.Modified the frame for belly exhaust, just to name a few.One other mod was the hood,a few years back bought another hood from Streetbeast (was a quick and easy transaction) It fir like it came with the car.Cut the scoop out and added a modified Harwood scoop to get enough aircleaner for the 460 to breath up near wot.Personally love the look. One of the best features of a kit car is we have this freedom to do whatever we need in the quest for speed and handling and not have to worry about lost value.
