Rod,

Maybe we should all get together and do that "beer" run thing! :O) S

I would imagine that a polished aluminum car would be annoying to anyone driving near it due to the reflections of the sun that it probably broadcasts. Why would anyone want such a thing?

Squirrel!

A. Nice car, but Fran sells nothing cheap. I remember the whole repro magnesium wheel pricing deal.

B. You can still buy the red SPF GT40 for $133,500 obo. Ya, sure, they're going up. As we speak!

C. RHD, sill shifting, only for the purist.

D. Nice color!

You mean the one where you said Fran needed the deposit money to finance the production? That one? The wheels being offered by a guy who had just sold his GT40 for 2 mill plus? Yeah, he needed YOUR money to do the wheels!

That said, we did need to stay 20 miles from Carlisle because the hotel was six bucks cheaper! And I just committed to sharing a room with him at the Glen Vintage again. I guess I never learn................

I never said he needed my money, but as I recall, the price kept changing over the YEARS. And details were given sparingly. Need to know basis and I obviously didn't need to know.

I remember calling, and Rodneym too, the darn manufacturing plant in the midwest (Michigan?) trying to figure out how to get the molds made and not get in trouble with Halibrand. I finally figured out that $2,000/wheel wasn't worth it for my Kirkham. :p

Exactly! 20 miles from Carlisle for $6/night? Geez. Remind me never to book a trip to Hawaii with Fran. I might end up having to stay IN the Airport.

You are talking about a guy who slept on the floor in a Glen motel lobby because they let him stay free if he did so.

Never get in a land war in Asia, never go against a Sicilian when death is on the line and NEVER trust Fran when he says "it's a nice place". Compared to the Kress Hilton Resort ,the Bates Motel is a "nice place"

Love that movie!

That price is a bargain compared to what you would pay for mine. Believe me I could sell it tomorrow for $200k.

This video just in from CO. The local SPF GT40's owners met and here's the video of the meeting. Mike D, our resident troll, is the one with the wine glass:

For a replica, tribute, reproduction, clone, kit car, copy, forgery, etc.?

In white, the window trim color of my house?

With a 302/4bbl?

Uh, can't forget it's got a "Lemaze" cam too?

And not running?

At about $115,000-ish for a roller plus a few options, add a 302/4bbl, ZF and installation, you might hit $150,000. $200K? Puh-leeze. Stop, you're killing me here.

Get off the Ganja Mike. Time for intervention. :)

The details matter. Bead tumbled castings make is so much easier to keep new looking. Exhaust fabrication next. The entire car has handmade everywhere ;)

You must be in sales. But, I'm not buying handmade (produced in South Africa), because you changed gauges or foot pedals or even bead tumbled some castings. Zzzzzzzzzzz.

It's a nice replica, painted in a dull color with an unimaginative engine/fuel choice, but if you're interested in seeing something more along the lines of custom, check out Dean Lampe's RCR. Now that's what I call custom! Every car he's built, a couple Cobras and a couple of GT40's at least, has been top notch.

A 2016 GT3RS. Asking $324,000, but it's a PTS (Paint To Sample) car, which raises the value. Among Porsche-philes, Mexico Blue is sought after. However, I doubt the seller will get that much.
