Love the cold air intake. Is that supplied by RCR? Is that a true 427 side oiler? What trans? Not a T44 is it?

Excellent build. So close to an original it's hard to tell it isn't

D-Nye 07-24-2017 09:12 AM

Thank, The air box was sourced from a guy who supplied the continuation cars that Mike T. built. The engine is a standard bore and stroke 428 with Edelbrock heads and tunnel wedge induction system. The engine looks the part and has more power than I will ever need. Had a RBT ZF built for the car which was 20K less money.
My goal was to build a car that looked as close as the originals knowing each one was different in some way. For the most part all of the four cars that raced in 1967 at Le Mans has changed a little over time. Not to take anything away from the original cars, each one is very special and the owners are very lucky to have them. I really enjoyed doing the research and building this car.

Does RCR supply those?

Car is back home and looking great. It's at the final ride height and I'm glad I installed the power lift kit, damn it's low!

Interesting thing happened on the way home. I turned in to my neighborhood and it stopped running. The way it sounded it was like turning off the key. I thought I flooded it trying to get it started so decided to wait it out. It just happened to have the sunset. fountain and my house in the far background. So I made the best of it by taking some pictures. One of the little boys in the neighborhood would always ride his bike over to the house while I was building the car and always ask if he could take some pictures when it was completed. He is driving a car now and just happened to drive by while I was waiting for sunset light. He ran home and got his camera and he's not bad taking pictures. Much better than those fussy iphone pics. He gives me his card so I can email him for the pics. Alex Bouckley, Creative Media Specialist, McLaren Houston. The kid will going places.

The reason the car stopped running was a fuse which powers the coil and fuel pump relay. Fuse looked perfect in the car but was only passing 0.48 volts? Took it out and tested with a ohm meter and it had a high resistance. Replaced fuse and the car runs and I drive it home. I'm checking all my fuses. Very strange!

Enjoy the pictures I'm enjoying the car.
