Side Mirrors
I'm finally getting my ERA GT-40 back on the road after the explosion and fire several years ago.
I love the car, however - - visibility sucks. I'm looking for a set of Side Mirrors that will mount to the door frames or the plexiglass windows. Any thoughts, suggestions pictures would be greatly appreciated. Y'all have a really great day. Blackjack |

Jack,
These "formula car" type mirrors also work well |
I like both the GT40 and the Daytona Coupe. I just happen to fit better in a Coupe.
Hey Hershhow are you Dion these days? Clois |
I like the GT40 better than the Coupe as I never liked the way the roof on the Coupe is close to your head on the driver's side at least the way it was in SPF and Factory Fives I've sat in. I felt very good in my GTD GT40. Actually been thinking about going the GT40 route for my last car ie SPF, CAV or ERA if I can bring myself around to sell the Cobra or not! **)

I bought a RCR GT 40 three years ago this Dec.
I removed almost everything and rebuilding it. Pulled the motor a couple of weeks ago to replace it with a 347 Eight Stack. I'm have it paint Ford Race Red. Goal is to have it on the road for the London Cobra Show. Dwight http://www.clubcobra.com/photopost/d...sized_1590.jpg |
Mine are mounted to the forward portion of the door, and are marginally useful. Generally, the further the mirror is from yours eyes, the worse your view is going to be.
On trick is to use a passenger-side mirror on the dirver's side to magnify things. Seems to help. |
Hi Clois,
I'm doing good. I just got the GT back in action. I took that Mass Flo crap system off and put the Motec and eight barrel back on. She runs sweet. The 347 is outstanding. The thing is an animal with gobs of torque. BLACKJACK... ITS ABOUT TIME YOU OLE SPY. :3DSMILE: Hersh:):) |
BT Snake
what cam did you use? Do you know how much hp / tq you are making? Dwight |
Dwight,
I have to look for my receipt on the cam. The specs are on it. I'll try to get that when I get back home this evening. It dynoed at 476 HP to rear wheels and has 422 ft lbs torque. I only have a thousand miles on it but what a difference over the old 306 I took out. So far the only thing is the gas mileage dropped about 5 miles a gallon. A good trade for gobs of torque. Merry Christmas

To you all!

I received my Eight Stack system back. Total rebuild with new parts that work!
They changed by side pull throttle to a center pull. They did a flow test and set everything so all I have to do it set it on the motor and crank it. I will have to adjust the idle. I have all the parts for the new 347 motor. We plan to assemble it starting next week. Dwight http://www.clubcobra.com/photopost/d...ov_2013_5_.JPG |
