Default Public apology

Let this be a forum apology if I riled up a few forum friends with my post. In retrospect, perhaps I should have kept my mouth shut and PM'd the seller. I have bought and sold about 16 collector cars and never hoped to recover what I put into them. All except one sold for a lot less than my perceived value. A big part of my enjoyment out of this hobby is tinkering with what improvements can be made and eventually finding success with that. Most of the time, the installation process goes way beyond what should have been but I love getting under the hood with a wrench. I don't expect to get paid for that.
My lovely bride reminded me of when I posted a car for sale at another forum and someone hijacked the thread saying his friend had a similar car for sale for $3000 less. I was pissed. Although I did not say that here, my statements could have sounded like that. So, I retract my statement and sincerely apologize to the seller, and to anyone offended by my posts. A major part of this hobby for me is making good friends, not enemies.
Cheers!

Ray,

That has happened to me on more than one occasion and I agree, it sucked.

Thanks for the apology.

Hey, if it is a car you enjoy what more could you ask? The money thing, I hope, doesn't enter into this hobby for most of us. Else, we'd all be called fools for pouring money into replicas! Maybe some of the "real" collectors with money to by "real" cars feel that way about us, but hey, I'm happy!

Of course the money thing entered into it - I'm a banker, so I know a little more about money and what people do with it versus your limited knowledge - if it were not a money thing, we all would have real Cobra's if there were a suffient number to go around. Wake Up!

As for the comment about making enemies around here - I'm bulletproof.

How bulletproof are you? You may understand money, but may not know what it takes to generate it.

I'm a doctor, make money $40-50 at a time. You have to see alot of patients to make alot of money, buy a cobra. Do the numbers.

My experience with bankers is that although they do understand many of the state and federal regualtions that control the loaning of money, transfer of money, etc., I think they really have no concept of what it takes to run a business, have employees, follow other government regulations. Unless you run your own businees, with employees, I don't know if you could really ever understand business. You won't learn it in school.

Banks make way too much money on interest, and all the other fees associated with loans, and business accounts, being backed by the government.

Ray -- No enemies made here - just sharing opinions. And like something else each of us has, each of us has opinions also. Some of us are lucky enough to have wives remind of us of our flaws. God knows mine does!
