Hey Rod & Don,

When I decided to build the GT40 I knew I would be in line again for an SB100 registration it is just part of the course here in California......the GT is #2008 382.

I have a CHP appointment on April 10 in Dublin.

Tony, Don and I had THAT infamous experience with our personal information mixed up between our two certificates this year.

The SB100 process is relatively no big deal (maybe compared to surgery ), except when the DMV mishandles the paperwork.

Maybe you and Don should consider one of those new Coupes from Kirkham. Then, maybe Joe over at KMS will kick me back a referral fee. :)

Tony Ripepi 03-20-2008 04:51 PM

Hey Rod,

The Kirkham boys have slept in my guest room.......Sorta the Cobra version of Washington slept here.

I have a daughter getting married the end of the summer $$$$$$ which means next year a third toy garage and then looking to see what goes in it ----- the dream is a hybrid Kirkam, slab side, painted Aluminum with a small block, five speed a total street cruiser.

The garage you see in the picture can be expanded to the left to make room, and yes another trip to the DMV for another SB100 registration.

Tony, that's great that you care so much about the environment that you would install gas/electric engine in your Kirkham. Are you thinking about the Toyota hybrid engine for your install? My wife loves hers.:LOL::LOL:

Once I get my Kirkham on the road, I'm going to start thinking about the GT40 or Coupe. Can't wait to check out the 40.

Tony Ripepi 03-20-2008 05:26 PM

Rod,

We are in Dublin....you could check out the GT anytime you want.

BTW Hybrid means many things to many people....to Cobra guys it means something besides fuel economy. I cheer everytime I see one of the green hybrids because it is saving the gas for our Cobras. :):):):)

Tony thanks. I actually work about 15 minutes from Dublin. I would love to see your "team" someday.

I was only kidding about the hybrid remark. I do know that hybrid to Cobra guys means a 289 Cobra with a 427 suspension.

Don,

When are you scheduled to take delivery of your car? If you go up to Reno, you might see might car at RED (next door to Dynamic).

I got word earlier this week that Stephen had finished the warranty work on my car and had taken it out for a shakedown run. I'm just waiting to hear back regarding the delivery logistics.

Tony Ripepi 03-21-2008 10:41 AM

Rod,

Anytime or come to BACC breakfast...I will be there tomorrow in the GT.

ENTDOC 03-21-2008 12:33 PM

nice car Tony, I recently picked up a SPF MK11 with a roush 427 and it is a hoot to drive, the rear vision is defintly worse than a MK1 however.

Tony Ripepi 03-21-2008 12:45 PM

Hi Doc,

I installed a wireless rear view camera mounted on the license plate frame and found I do not need it.

I put one on the CAV MK1 and actually use it quite a bit, I will definitly put one on the SPF. I did put wide angle mirrors on the SPF and that has helped some.

Hi All,

Been traveling, just saw the posts.

Tony,

That engine in the GT looks Awesome. I live in Saratoga and would love to see it some time. Where is the BACC breakfast held? Saturday I have 2 yr old granddaughters coming so I can't come but maybe in a couple of weeks.

Rod,

Actually standing in line wasn't so bad compared to the paper work mix up, but now all is well.

Doug,

Actually I will see the roller next Friday at Dynamic in Cincinnati. Eric at Performance Engineering is putting in a 427 FE side oiler with alum block, all polished and turkey pan. Tranny is TK600 to handle the torque.
I should get the cobra in about 3 weeks. I plan to drive a GT40 while I'm there.

Have a great week all,
Don

Hey Don,

The BACC meets in two diffrent locations:

http://www.bayareacobraclub.com/events.html

- Every Saturday at the RockHouse in Livermore @ 7:30 am
- 1st and 3rd Saturday of the month at Baji's in Mt. View @ 8:00 am

Great to hear that you're going take delivery of your car soon. We need another Titanium with Black stripes in the South Bay to balance things out. :)

Tony Ripepi 03-23-2008 10:55 AM

Hi Don,

Congrats on the Cobra...my engine is an Aluminum 427 Windsor and if I have too much throttle on acceleration the rear end starts to come around very time.......I can not imagine what a 427 would do in the GT platform. I have a 427 SO in my Shelby and know how much torque they make.

We are at Breakfast every Saturday....in Livermore.
