Fresno man found dead at the firing range identified

A man found dead of a gunshot wound Saturday at a Fresno County firing range was identified Monday as Daniel Bonyhadi, 61, of Fresno.

Jeff Cardinale, a Fresno Police Department spokesman, said the death appeared to be a suicide. The Fresno County Coroner's office, however, said it had not made that determination.

Bonyhadi's body was found about 11 a.m. Saturday by a groundskeeper at the Fresno County Peace Officers Training Academy. 7633 N. Weber Ave. He had received a gunshot wound to his upper body.

You are a little behind the times on this one. Sad indeed, the original story about suicide is still unsubstantiated and just poor journalism .

Sad News!!! WTM442

Wrong guy Bill.

You linked to Warren instead of Bony.

Default Also a guy asked me if he had any other Ford GTs

Some fellow I presume from Fresno asked me if I knew if he had any other Ford GTs. When I met him he had a white one, I think with some part painted white not on the standard car. This was at the Forum's Newport Beach convention.

I can fathom why such a question would be asked--I have sometimes bought a car I didn't tell my spouse about and maybe he put a down payment on one and the paperwork hadn't been completed and/or mailed to him. At any rate, if anyone knows if he had other Ford GTs I can find the guy's e-mail and you can talk directly to him. Could be of interest to the estate.

I know another guy that left a whole airplane hanger of cars in Los Angeles and has no interest in what happens to them, so things like that happen.

I agree with the view of the reporting--they shouldn't speculate until the coroner makes an official determination.

Since the link posted was to the wrong thread and I don't know where the correct one is, I'll say this - In my 30 year career as a firefighter, I've responded to 100's of suicides by gunshot. The info. is vague but I've NEVER have I seen one in the upper body. Mouth-yes, head-yes. Abdomen/upper body-no. Unless by upper body they meant the head.

This is old news and downright wrong to propagate the original report, which has been retracted by the Fresno Bee.

There have been several threads here already about Bony's passing; we don't need another one perpetuating the journalism error.

thanks
