				New Hurricane Owner!!

I thought that I would officially introduce myself on here. My name is Aaron, from Minnesota and I just signed the purchase agreement on HM-2016. So officially, I'm the newest member of the Hurricane family. I have been in the market for a cobra replica for the past year after being turned onto Factory Five. After looking at Factory Five, Shell Valley, Hurricane, B and B, ERA and Lonestar I settled on Hurricane.
I think that the aforementioned companies are all building really good cars. I think that each replica has its pluses and minuses. For me Hurricane got my business because it is a authentic replica of one of the originals, it has very comfortable foot wells, the customer service is awesome, and the quality of the kit components are top notch. Plus, the kit was truly complete. Finally, the fiberglass quality was better than anything else I have seen. I have looked at all the above kits and I have not seen any fiberglass cobra bodies, with the exception of ERA, that could match the quality of the Hurricane fiberglass. From the way the mold lines were placed in inconspicuous spots, to the straight, non-wavy fiberglass, to the way the doors, trunk and hood fit, I was blown away. I have been working with Steve and Jason and will have the opportunity to build the car to Stage 1 (roller) with them. I am planning on having an online build thread for this as well. It may be on the Hurricane site and it may be here, stay tuned for more detail. Bottom line, I am really excited to be a part of the Cobra replica family and I can't wait to get this thing out for a cruise! Gotta build it first though .

Congratulations and good luck with the build. You will be smiling ear to ear when you get it on the road. Plenty of good knowledge in this forum.

I'm not far away from you at all...Hugo, MN, just on the Northeast side of the cities. There are now two of us Hurricane drivers up here mixed in with a few Factory Five boys. We are hoping to start a cruising club. Do you have a Cobra currently?

Great recipe! I'm running the same motor, rear gears, wheels and tires. Only "ingredient" I would suggest you reconsidering is the .64 OD in your TKO. There are plenty of discussion on here about .82 vs .64 and I think the consensus here is that unless you're running on the Autobahn, the .82 is more desirable. Just my two pesos!
Looking forward to your build thread!

				Here you go!

My boys and dad made the trek to Lake City Iowa a couple of weeks ago to build our car to a roller stage. Jason met us on a Saturday in stifling heat and we put a full day in installing the rear suspension, front suspension, steering rack, and front and rear brakes. It was a blast, my boys got to learn about cars (which is how I sold this project to my wife ) and my dad had a blast. It was a lot of fun and the Hurricane folks are just awesome to work with making the process even more enjoyable.

The first two pictures are of the finished frame on the jig and our body right out of the mold.

Notice the tight mold lines and their locations...should make body work easier.

Jason (Master Builder at Hurricane) and I installing the rear differential.

Chase putting on the upper control arms.

Levi and Chase (Levi 10, Chase 7) are assembling the rear differential with my dad carefully watching over.

Rear end assembled.

Front end assembled.

Not quite sure yet. There are a couple guys here in the twin cities that do fiberglass work. My friend is having his FFR painted at one of the shops. The pictures that I have seen so far demonsrate show quality work. I've only seen pics so once I see the thing in person I can speak from an opinion point of view. If I like it I may go with them. I'll reserve mentioning the shop name until I verify the work.

Let me know if I can be of any assistance. I'm familiar with quite a few of the shops here in the TCs.
