Default Aluminum block and head suppliers???

Keith,

I asked this question a few weeks ago but since then I understand club cobra had some trouble and the thread was lost before I got to read the answer if there was one.

What have you heard, or experienced about the quality of either Pond or Dove blocks, heads, and intakes or other assorted FE parts they offer?

Your participation on this site has made you my choice for an engine builder when the time comes. Thanks for the extra effort, although I'm sure it helps your business to advertise and help with answers here. You seem to always shoot straight and thats a good thing when the large dollars required for a healthy FE are required.

Mike

Default FE Parts

Mike I have never had a Dove block because he was never able to deliver one. I have used his heads and they scare me because I have had to many leak water even before porting. His intakes seem to work good but for all out race engines. I have used the Pond aluminum block with good results. I have done about 20 engines with the Pond blocks. I have done about 50 with the Shelby aluminum block. I use the Edelbrock head in most cases because of the cost and durability. I use the Blue Thunder High riser head when doing a full out race type engine wanting more than 800HP. I feel that you would be best to stay away from the Dove stuff and use either Pond, Shelby or Edelbrock. I do not like the Shelby head castings they are to thin and I have had problems with them leaking as well. Pond has just sent me some samples of some head castings but I have not played with them as of yet. Hope this helps a little. Thanks, Keith
