Mine's going on 10 years, never been rebrushed, washed a few times a year to take off the grime and Windexed every now and then. No problems period despite all the assperts preaching doom.

You're comparing apples with bananas Jamo. The aluminium used on the AC is very different to that used on the Kirkham.
