Kirkham Motorsports Tour August 2016
This is a replica of the thread I originally posted on August 13th, but it got lost after the server failures and club cobra being restored from an earlier backup.
So let's see if I remember what I wrote back then (or maybe google's cached pages will help me remember)... |
Kirkham Motorsports Tour August 2016
Back in 2011 I went to the Kirkham Open House and posted some pictures. Here is a link to that thread: http://www.clubcobra.com/forums/kirk...ml#post1111352 Last week my girlfriend and I flew into Salt Lake City went on a bus tour of Yellowstone, Mount Rushmore, etc. along with my kids and my girlfriend's nephew who is visiting for a few weeks. So I thought why not contact David Kirkham and see if I could stop by in the morning before we fly back to Pennsylvania and see what was going on at Kirkham Motorsports now. David was kind enough to give us a tour and we were able to get to the airport with plenty of time before our flight was supposed to leave. We had a Delta flight which was impacted by their system wide failure that morning that grounded all of their flights, so we were actually lucky that our flight was only delayed by 4.5 hours... Anyway I thought I would post some pictures. Here is David and some tourists who stopped by that morning. ;) http://www.1ntcobra.com/Kirkham2016/IMG_1873.jpg |

I probably have the terminology wrong, but here is a sheet stretch forming machine with a billet die used for making Daytona Coupe panels.

I suppose some of you know that Larry Ellison, CEO of Oracle Corporation has a very special Kirkham already. One of the billet chassis cars. In case you are not familiar with that car here is the related thread.
http://www.clubcobra.com/forums/kirk...s-kirkham.html Now Larry is getting a Daytona Coupe from Kirkham as well. It will have paddle shifters and air conditioning. http://www.1ntcobra.com/Kirkham2016/_DSC0695.jpg Here you can see where the computer box for the paddle shifter will go. http://www.1ntcobra.com/Kirkham2016/_DSC0696.jpg http://www.1ntcobra.com/Kirkham2016/_DSC0697.jpg http://www.1ntcobra.com/Kirkham2016/_DSC0698.jpg http://www.1ntcobra.com/Kirkham2016/_DSC0699.jpg http://www.1ntcobra.com/Kirkham2016/_DSC0700.jpg http://www.1ntcobra.com/Kirkham2016/_DSC0701.jpg |
