(thanks 'Werks) More info why K Bros should build a '33 Ford, 3 window coupe.(California Kid, ZZTop) Cobra convention - 300 cars, maybe 5k spectators= how many sales? Street Rod Nats- 12,000 cars, 60k spectators, nobody makes a new, METAL 33 Coupe, all current coupes are 'glass. Check out Hemmings+ Evilbay for prices on rat '33s. BIG GREEN. There ain't none left. Build stainless frame ,install cobra bling alloy suspension parts, polish up body. street rodders are like trout, they like shinny. Sell millions, put on xtra shifts at polak factory.

I still would like to see a D-type. At one point, someone (don't know who)was making an AL one.
Great job as usual David. BTW - Thanks also for Steve's help in getting a hi res picture of a Kirkham. I am planning on using it next week at a Vegas Trade show on a couple of 32" LCD panels. Looks fantastic. Thanks again. Keith |

I was just thinking, that the other car that I would love would be a Aston Martin DB5. You are the gurus of AL and have a relationship with the boys at Ford/AM, maybe you get get some interest.:)

My 2 cents: Affordable magnesium FIA pin-drive wheels.
When you come to a fork in the road, take it. |
How about a well built (with a real frame for a change) Lotus "7"

As a future potential customer, here is my "dream" scenario, for any who are interested:
Kirkham 427 S/C replica, fully assembled (including rear differential & half-shafts, engine oil cooler, and side-exhaust pipes). If a fiber-glass body is ever offered, I would select this option and I would like the car painted since my intent would be to drive it as often as possible; however, since I know fiber-glass may never be offered, I would choose a brushed aluminum body. In my scenario, all I would need to provide is an engine, transmission, and fluids. I know that there are manufacturers out there offering packages like this (I have researched many), but I keep coming back to and lusting after a Kirkham because of how true the cars are to the originals. Details such as body shape, frames rails, and role bar positioning and slope are extremely important to me, and I have not found any other replica manufacturer with the same attention to detail as the Kirkhams. The point, for me, when I finally do this (in about 5 - 10 years), is that I will most likely choose a Kirkham because, in my mind, their car is the "real thing". I would pursue the closest thing to a real one since the first Cobra to grab my attention was a real one 8 years ago; I wish I had had the presence of mind to note the CSX number, but at that time I was just finding out what a Cobra really was. (I say my time horizon is 5-10 years because I am a graduate student in my late 20s and do not have the means--otherwise I might be interested in that one currently for sale. It's pretty close to what I'd want!) Sorry for rambling; Thank you for the opportunity to share! |
I'd like to see a top being an option.
