Default Tremec TKO with short throw shifter?

Does anyone have a Tremec TKO 600 in your Kirkham with a short throw shifter?

If so, is it worth it? or does it make it too notchy?)

How long is the stock Tremec TKO shifter? (annoying or pretty short to start with)

Can the shifter be changed after the trans is in the car, or will the engine and trans have to be pulled out to replace the shifter?

Should this thread be moved to All Cobra Talk, since I guess this question can really apply to Any Cobra with the Tremec. . . .?

I just bought a new TKO500 and I think the stock Tremec shifter is pretty short and notchy. I think it's actually a shorter throw (definitely notchier) than my Hurst Comp Plus on my Toploader. I like the feel of it...don't really have any plans to change it.

Depending on how close the trans is to the trans tunnel, it may make it rough to swap it out with the trans in the car if you can't remove the tunnel. I'm not familiar with Kirkhams....do they have removeable trans tunnels like an SPF?

The stock shifter is actually made by Hurst. jimig@standardtransmission.com

My car came with this short throw shifter. You may be able to get one thru Keith Craft.
