Default Windshield Center Bracket Missing

My Kirkham did not come with a center bracket on the windshield. Should it have come with it? Should I put it in?

I don't know that you need it unless you are putting on a convertible top. Also if you want to attach a tensioner rod like the one Finishline sells then you will need this bracket.

New avatar, huh, Brian?

I'm going to take a wild guess and just bet that when you stand there admiring your car, most of the time you're looking at the back!

OK...back to the thread at hand...

This is the best picture I could find: (it's the bracket in the middle of the windshield at the bottom, connecting it to the body. I also noticed that most recent Kirkhams no longer have these. . .

Without it your windshield will vibrate like hell, mine did. Make sure you install one.

I just got mine last week and noticed I didn't have it. I just thought it was on the way with some other bits & pieces.

Okay, how bad is the install? Pull the windshield to drill holes? or is it easy? Who did you get your bracket from?

I got mine from Shelby with the needed hardware. I’m sure you could get it from Kirkham also.
No big deal to install.

Put it in place and mark the holes with sanford marker. Remove windshield frame and drill the holes. Install a couple rivnuts and put back together. The rivnuts are so u can take it apart next time without having to find the nuts under the dash.
My two cents...........

With a soft top, it is a must. Without it, the top will pull the frame apart... don't ask me how I know. Otherwise, generally optional. Rivnuts are a great idea....
