Great footage! Thanks for posting.
Looked like something over 7600 in top gear. Must be a very nice engine

Cheers,
Glen

Thanks. I like watching Jim Pace videos of tracks. I use them to prepare for a new track, as he is quite descriptive of how to attack the track. Having an 8,000 rpm shift point is nice, but those are expensive engines and need to be torn down quite often. $$$$$$$

The engine was built by Cobra Automotive, probably one of the best current engine builders around. Their motors for the race Shelby GT350's run north of the 530 HP routinely. The driver in the video is Jim Pace, he does quite a few in car videos in various cars.
This isn't a great video, but it gives you an idea of what a stout motor Cobra Automotive builds in to their cars.

I have met the engine shop foreman at Cobra Automotive, John Garliti, on several occasions at the track and only have good things to say about him. He is approachable and offers to help fellow racers (he races as well) even if they are not Cobra Automotive clients.

What I like about Cobra Automotive is that they actually have a catalog that you can read (or download, or both) and it's a really nice catalog at that:
