Actually it would be nice to have both the toploader mount and the tremec tabs already welded in.

Saves some welding on the end user, plus there isn't much to the tremec tabs anyway. I'd imagine a lot of folks don't have welders and have to take it somewhere to get it done. I'm going to ask for them installed on mine.

Doesn't appear they interfere with either setup, plus a lot of folks opt for the TKO. (I think David posted that most of the cars now get 5 speeds) $3.50/gal no doubt a consideration.

You could always put a 4 speed ball on for that "vintage" look.;)

WHAT DOES THE ABOVE MEAN? I gotta know

Do you want to put a TKO in your car? In that case, isn't it mandatory to cut off the toploader mount? I assumed the TKO case would hit it.

Kris,

No, our 5 speed mount allows the top loader mount to stay intact, untouched. The Tremec transmission comes within about 1/4 of an inch but does not touch. I guess AC was looking ahead when they designed the tranny mount to use a 1/2 inch spacer.

Tom,
Do you guys weld the mount on? I was wondering if I should have you guys do it on my car. By the way are the gold looking hubs the hubs on all new cars?
thanks
chris

Chris,

Yes, yes, yes.
